BAGUIO CITY – MegaFiber scored a big 109 points in the fourth and final round to bag the coveted title in the Senior FIL Championship Flight with 451 total points in the 69th Fil-Am Invitational.
Down by nine points going into Thursday final round, Rolly Viray tamed the short but tricky Baguio Country Club (BCC) course, scored 29 points while Jose Mari Marie Hechanova and Rene Unson fired similar 27 to lift MegaFiber final assault. Abrahan Rosal contributed 26.
Luisita Golf & Country Club (GCC), leader for three straight days collapsed, submitted a disastrous 98 points in its final round and settled for runner-up finish with an aggregate score of 449, Manila Southwoods ranked third with 445 while Okinawa Golf Team fourth with 372.
Over at Camp John Hay (CJH), Luisista GCC’s AM Championship flight defended its title with four-round total of 458 including its 121 final round output.
Danilo Cruz scored 32, Edmund Yee and Chito Laurete scored similar 30 to power Luisita GCC’s final game. Benjie Sumulong had 29.
Host Camp John Hay Golf Club tallied 428 for a runner-up finish, Summit Point GC had 426 to place third while Manila Southwoods at the cellar with 357. Primo Agatep/ABN
