BAGUIO CITY- The Luisita Golf and Country Club (GCC) Championship Flight teams on Monday played tenacious rounds in the hunt for top honors of the Senior Division in the on-going 69th Fil-Am Invitational.
Veteran Eddie Bagtas and Jingy Tuazon combined 65 points while Raffy Garcia and Rodel Mangulabnan contributed 30 and 29 points, respectively at Camp John Hay fairway to power Luisita GCC’s second round output of 124 points.
The Tarlac parbusters scored two-day aggregate of 249 points including their first round output of 125 points and sustained their leadership in the FIL Championship Division with two-point advantage.
Manila Southwoods is in second spot with 247 (120-127), Megafiber on third position with 239 (112-127) while Okinawa Golf Team in fourth with 203 (107-98).
Raul Minoza sizzled with one under 37 points and lifted Manila Southwoods fiery second round 127 points. Supporting Minoza were Theody Pascual 35,Sang Jin Lee 30 and Judd Roy 25.
Over at Baguio Country Club (BCC) golf course, though the other Luisita team only came with 107 points but it was enough to wrest the lead (215) against over night leader host Camp John Hay (CJH) which struggled with 89 points and dropped to second spot (202) in the hunt for top honors in the AM Championship Flight.
Summit Point Golf & Country Club in third with 194 while Manila Southwoods in fourth position with 180.
Scoring for Luisita GCC were Danilo Cruz 30, Edmund Yee 27 while Benjie Sumulong and Chito Laureta had similar 25.
Both Championship flight will have their rest day tomorrow (Dec.4) and they will resume their game on Wednesday (Dec.5) with the FIL Championship Flight playing at BCC while the AM Championship will see action in CJH.
Meanwhile, Baguio City Mayor Domogan maintained his familiarity at John Hay golf course, scored 30 points to power Camp John Hay Golf Club‘s two-day total of 195 points ( 95-100) and head strong for the title in the newly introduced Super Seniors with 44 points lead.
Aiding Mayor Domogan in their second round attack were Park Jon Won 27, Nelson Eslao, 22 and Jun Tolete 21.
Golf F-Veterans scored 151 (74-77), Team Hollywood 151 (74-77) and Residences at Brent 119 (60-59).
