EagleMasters, Baguio Country Club take early lead in 69th Fil-Am golf


BAGUIO CITY – EagleMasters and  host Baguio Country Club (BCC) on Saturday made  a respectable round to lead their respective flights, midway into the first round of competition of the  Senior’s Division in the on going 69th Fil-Am Invitational.

Randy Cadiongan and  Abe Dizon tamed the Camp John Hay (CJH) fairways, scoring 47 points,  Lito Dublan had 20 while Joe Tesado contributed 16 to power EagleMaster’s first round score of 83 points to take a one point lead in Flight C of the Fil Division.

Guam Kool Swingers produced  82 points while Mighty Sandigans had 81 to stay in second and third spot, respectively. Northwoods Hard Rock is in striking distance with 79 while Ropali-Isabela GC 77.

Players of host Baguio Country Club (BCC) tallied  97 points to post a 14 lead against Davao EagleMasters which scored an 83 point in Am “C” flight. Guam Seniors in third position with 79 followed by Korea Morning Calm 78.

Scoring for BCC were Ed Dirige, who demonstrated his  familiarity in his home course, produced   29 points, Jun Basabica  Reggie Gamboa  each had identical 24 points while Mon Aldana came up with 20 points.

Host Camp John Hay Golf Club (CJHCG) submitted 95 points and sent a strong signal for the coveted honor in the newly introduced Super Senior’s division.

Supporting CJHCG’s first round output were Park Jong Hon, who scored 29 at his home course in John Hay. He was aided by  City Mayor Mauricio Domogan and Albert Tualla, who scored similar 23’s and Jun Tolete, 20.

Golf F-Veterans in second spot with 74 followed by Residences at Brent with  60 and Team Hollywood II at 58. Primo Agatep/ ABN
